Book of the week: Courage

I have very fond memories of author Bernard Waber. I remember reading his books as a child. Some of my favorites were the Lyle books and Ira Sleeps Over.

I was in Barnes and Noble the other day, looking at different children’s books, when I came across Courage. I was specifically interested in the title, since a carton of milk is focusing on independence this month. After all, people sometimes need courage to be independent. So, I picked up the book and started to read.

This page reads, “Courage is riding your bicycle for the first time without training wheels”. I was immediately in love with this book. Bernard Waber portrays many simple instances where children and adults have to display courage to do something on their own. This book is a must have.
