Many many thanks. It’s official…We have hit 10,000 views
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!! Because of all of our loyal readers we have, as of today, hit 10,001 all time views.
Here’s how the idea for our site came to be.
Over the years we have received countless questions from parents about child development and learning. We get the same questions from different parents throughout the year, and those same questions year after year.
“How can I support my child’s reading at home?” “How can I help him enter a group of kids already playing?” “How did you get him to be so independent in class?” “What is balanced literacy?”
During our daily breakfast club meetings we would discuss everything from teaching philosophies to great new technology finds to the latest child run center we were creating. During lunch we asked each other for advice on questions parents had, and for recommendations of where parents could look to find answers. We searched all over the internet to try and find a site that helped our parent population find answers to these questions. We came across some wonderful sites like Teach Preschool, No Time For Flash Cards, and Teaching Heart. We decided that we wanted to create a place where parents and teachers could come to find answers to many common and uncommon questions alike. Our goal is to share practical tips from the classroom that you can seamlessly weave into your daily life with your kids (be it your own children or your students).
Teaching is one of the hardest jobs because our decisions directly effect another life.
Here is some inspiration for all you teacher moms out there. My heart doubled in size when I received this on teacher appreciation day a few years ago.
We are so honored that you have all chosen to read what we have to say and hope to continue this journey alongside you.
